I don’t know much about meth. I do know what it was like to finally quit a two pack a day smoking habit. It was a real accomplishment for me and I didn’t give myself enough credit for it.

You deserve an award or a certificate or something.

But I’m really glad you’re finding a way to be healthy and that you have good things in your life like dogs, heifers and chickens.

Please keep writing!

I wonder if, now that your weight is up, if clean eating (but just a little more of it) won’t keep the weight stable? Hopefully your doc has some input that will help. You already know what I have to say about protein, so...

I forgot about intentions- my word for the year is harmony. I intend to fit in with people at my new job and help them. I want to resonate with them, and I want to do good work together. I’m open to new ideas and methods.

So far, on week two, I’m starting to find my new-job-feet and I think it’s going well.

You're absolutely on the right track...take it one day at a time, that's enough for right now. Surrounded by animals (my favorite 'people') and out in nature all day is a recipe for success as long as you remain focused on what's healthy for YOU and you alone.

You're also quite perceptive when it comes to hearing what's behind those text messages. Trust your instincts and be firm, but polite in your responses. Let this guy know that you're absolutely NOT getting into a relationship, or 'giving in to anyone.' That's not being mean; it's being honest. Those of us who've been in codependent relationships have a hard time understanding the difference. If he doesn't respect that, then stop answering...radio silence. This recovery will take time and the only people you need to be involved with right now are medical and psychological support folks. And fellow Substackers who totally get it!

You're on the right path and doing the right things. Don't second guess your intuition. Just. keep. going.
